329-2020 – Mother and Child Statue in Basildon Town Centre

Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about the mother and child statue in Basildon Town Centre.

If you look closely, you might notice that someone considered that the initial sculpture is missing something to be a complete work of art, so they have added a traffic cone on top. Not the most funny art installation, but still a creative approach to and existent iconic ‘The Mother and Child’ fountain situated in the central plaza of the Basildon town centre. Luckily, the addition is not permanent and the traffic cone can be easily removed without any damage to the work of art.
