260-2020 – Gentle Touch

Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is of my daughter’s gentle touch with the neighbour’s cat called Lemonade. Poor cat, sometimes I feel for her. She is dragged all over the garden and trained to walk like a human or squeezed firmly by the neck, with all the love in the world. On the other hand I don’t see her complaining too much, and only noticed a few scratches here and there on my daughter’s arm and face. Like, comment & share!

259-2020 – Aerial view of Sacele City Centre

Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is an aerial view of Sacele City Centre on a sunny day. The city since 1950 is composed of former villages which now form the main sectors: Baciu (Bácsfalu, Batschendorf), Turcheș (Türkös, Türkeschdorf), Cernatu (Csernátfalu, Zerndorf), and Satulung (Hosszúfalu, Langendorf). In the image above I mainly captured Cernatu. Like, comment & share!

255-2020 – Aronia Berries

Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about harvesting Aronia Berries also knows as Chokeberries. They are rich in fiber, vitamin C, and powerful antioxidants that may have heart-healthy, immune-boosting, and anticancer properties. You can add fresh aronia berries to many recipes, jams and syrops or use them as a supplement. I tried them in juices, together with peaches, bananas or apples. Really nice! Like, comment & share!

254-2020 – Two cute little cats

Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about our two cute little cats, only a few weeks old. These two kittens were born on 26 August 2020 in a cupboard on top of a pair of winter fluffy comfy boots, and since then their mother hidden them until today. Currently we are debating how to call them…Roxy seems to be one name my daughter is using, but to be honest I not even sure if they are male or females. Like, comment & share!

252-2020 – Not Peter Rabbit

Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about my neighbours’ rabbit (Not Peter Rabbit) who escaped its cage this morning. I found it under the porch, grabbed it by the ears and put it back in its cage. Mission accomplished. To keep it busy for a while we dropped a bunch of dandelion leaves in the cage too. 251-2020 – Crying Vines

Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about the crying vines. I didn’t know about this vine tears phenomenon, which is a way for the grape vine to heal itself after pruning, preventing the penetration of bacteria, and finally closing off the cut wound.According to Botanical-Online this grape vine sap is one of the most important eye drops. It can be used to treat Skin Diseases or Conjunctivitis.

250-2020 – Beautiful Butterfly

Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is of a beautiful butterfly hanging upside down on an apple tree stalk. Even with a damaged wing, this beautiful orange and brown butterfly was flying without any issues. In conclusion, being flawed doesn’t make you less beautiful. For most people you are perfect the way you are. Carry on … flying. Like, comment & share!

249-2020 – The Final Goodbye

Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about the final goodbye family and friends wished to my father in law. In many traditions around the world, the memorial of a loved one doesn’t end after the funeral. While the memorial service is the last chance to say goodbye to the deceased in many cultures and religions, some believe the mourning process lasts for 40 days. There is a belief that the soul continues to wander the Earth for another 40 days after the initial death. While wandering, the soul visits significant places from their life as […]

248-2020 – White House with the Red Rooftop

Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about the white house with the red rooftop I see every day from my kitchen window. Because our houses are in a valley, most days the top of the hills are covered with a white blanket of clouds and this is the view I see quite often. Spectacular I would say! Another interesting fact is that this house was the only house in the Doftana Valley in 2003, when my in-laws started the construction of their house. Now there are more than 30 houses around us, […]

244-2020 – Clouds over the Heroes’ Cross on Caraiman Peak

Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about a bunch of clouds over the Heroes’ Cross on Caraiman Peak. The Heroes’ Cross is located in the saddle of the Caraiman Mountains, on the slope to the Seacă Valley at an elevation of 2,291 metres (7,516 ft). The cross itself has a height of 28 metres (92 ft) and two arms of 7 metres (23 ft) each.[1] The monument is the tallest summit cross in the world situated at such an altitude, as recognized in 2014 by Guinness World Records.[2]  Like, comment & share!
