Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about my new brown boots from Primark. These boots only cost £20 and look like the ones made of leather, but at this price, it’s very unlikely. Another clue is the lack of labels which mention the materials used during production. If will last me this winter, I am a happy chap. Like, comment & share!

Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is another practice product photography shot of a Nike Men Shoes against a black background. I have a few more favourite images from the same photo session which you can see below. Browsing through my photos, I found my first creative product photography I ever took, with a Zenith film camera, on the carpet, in my bedroom, more than 20 years ago. Old habits never dies I guess! These were my first Nike shoes and I really liked them. If anyone knows from where I can buy […]
Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is a product shot of Elle Oil’s dvb, a small bottle filled with a “magic potion” which some say that it is the antidote for COVID-19. I have ordered this product on the 28 November and received it today, after 8 days directly from Romania. According to their website “ELLE OIL’S dvb is a solution that through its compounds has antiviral, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties based on high molecular weight essential oil extracts, obtained by biotechnological means without content of Genetically Modified Organisms and organic proteins.” CAUTION! INTENDED […]
Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is a studio shot of a lemon with green mold on it. Please remember, if your bread, lemon, apple jam tomato sauce etc has any amount of mold on it, don’t just remove the mold layer and continue using that product, because a cancerous substances called aflatoxins already contaminated your food. Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is of a can of Heineken on a black background. This is my wife’s favourite lager beer, but not my favourite subject to photograph in my studio. Because of the shiny surface, it’s very easy to get reflections you don’t want. Like, comment & share!
Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about my first attempt at food carving. The image above should resemble an owl. I used two apples, and two raisin for eyes and a few toothpicks to bring the body parts together. Was fun. I will try different animals in the future. Like, comment & share!
Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about two bananas on a mirror in the Ozgo Productions studio. The setup was really simple, one flash head shooting through a snoot, about 45 degrees from the subject pointing down. The main benefit of using a snoot is controlling the light. It restricts the spread to a narrow beam, so that some areas of the frame are not lit at all. In our tabletop example, the bananas are highlighted and the background is totally black. Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is of a sliced mango on a black background. Below are only some of the benefits of eating mango regularly: It helps in fighting cancer. Helps in lowering cholesterol level. Clears the skin. Great for diabetics. Helps in alkalising your body. Help in weight loss. An aphrodisiac fruit. Help improve vision. I’m sold, are you? Like, comment & share!
Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about figuring figs out, by photographing them on a black background. Another product photography session @Ozgo Productions’ Studio featuring two figs on a black background. I like my job, especially when I have to eat my subjects. Below are two more images which I like from the same shoot. Like, comment & share!
Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about a white fan on a black background. I also took the same image with various flash power settings ranging from 1/64 to 1/4, using a shutter speed of 1/200 sec, an aperture of F8, and an ISO of 100. I wanted to see when the speedlight’s power would overpower the backlight/rim light. I created a quick animation with ezgif.com, which you can see below. Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about my daughter’s Panda Bear Plush Toy on a black background. This images started with a black background and a white surface made of polystyrene. I was intrigued by the contrast and challenged myself to capture a black and white object in this environment. If you look closely in the toy’s eyes you can see where I got the lighting setup idea. Three-point lighting setup In order to achieve this setup I needed 3 lights. I had the back light (Elinchrom D-lite 400 flash head with […]
Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is of a passion fruit cut in half on a black background. Know when to stop shooting! This is the first shot out of 3 in total. After the 3rd shot, I decided that the first image will suffice, so I stopped shooting. I took the card out of the camera and went upstairs and started editing on Adobe Lightroom Classic. I imported the 3 images and gave the first image 3 stars. Usually, when I have more images, this star rating helps me sort out the […]
Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about a kiwi cut in half on a black background. In this shot, the key light is from a Elinchrom D-lite 400 flash head with a snoot positioned above and to the right of the fruit and triggered by a speedlight at 1/128 power. Like, comment & share!
Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about a pineapple on a black background. This image was taken in Ozgo Production’s small studio with a Canon EOS 5D Mark III, a manual macro lens (F22), an Elinchrom flash head with a snoot on a light stand shooting down from above, but the key light was from a Canon speedlight flash on camera pointed at the object, exposure, 1/200 sec, ISO 100. In Ozgo Productions studio we captured different fruits on a black background like this apple or a small Daddy Pig toy, to […]
Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about a silver metal blowing whistle. In order to take this image I used my iPhone 11 Pro a piece of white tissue on the kitchen table using the available light. The edit was done in Lightroom mobile, white balance, cropping and masking the object with my finger to get the white background. I have to admit that is not perfect, but it’s amazing what can be done these days on a smartphone. Like, comment & share!
Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about product photography, a Red Vintage Soda Siphon from the 1970s. The below images are taken by my 3 and 1/2 years old daughter, Diana Galatanu. I hope is clear who the creative force is in our family! Like, comment & share!
Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about a bunch of raisins lined up on a table. If I don’t have a wedding or a portrait session lined up, I like to set up my lights, roll down a background and start shooting water splashes or various products. Today was very difficult to choose the photo of the day because I had a few other good images that could easily be chosen to be the photo of the day. Which one is your favourite image?
