Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about an oven cooked gander meal with mash potatoes. I’ve marinated the meat in 14 years old red wine, freshly squeezed orange juice, salt and pepper for 24 hours in the fridge. Today, I took it out and left it at room temperature for three hours before I shoved it into the log burner oven. Beforehand, I chopped two onions, apples, carrots and mix it with salt, pepper and spices. In the cooking tray where the marinated sauce was, I’ve added the chopped vegetables and lay […]

Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about a discovery I’ve made about masks, and I can say with 100% certainty that masks do work…when painting the fence! Painting the fence when self isolating is the perfect excuse to wear a mask and “protect” everyone around you against COVID-19. My family lost someone already because of this virus, due to the lack of care in Romanian hospitals, since almost all of them are focused on treating patients with COVID-19 and neglect or refuse to treat patients with every other disease. My father-in-law had […]
Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is of me using a blowtorch on an old friend – Mr. Gander. Today, I have learned that the male goose is called gander! If you are skirmish, I don’t recommend reading the next paragraph or check the images below! by Augustin Galatanu I never sacrificed a chicken in my life, so catching and killing a gander was a nerve racking experience. After chasing him a few lapses around the house with a pitchfork in my hand, I finally cornered him as he entered the basement of […]

Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about how to shovel gravel like a pro. In the image above, my daughter is showing me how to shovel a pile of gravel without breaking my back. Use your legs, not your back. Bend your knee, come in and shove! Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about fisherman’s boats stranded at low tide near Leigh-on-Sea. This image was taken from the train with my iPhone 11 Pro, edited with Lightroom mobile and I am very pleased with the results. Like, comment & share!
Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is an image of a monster truck on a black background photographed with only one spotlight. To capture this image, I only used one spotlight to illuminate both the subject and the background at the same time. I placed the car on a mirror to get a nice reflection and then in Lightroom I cropped the image 1 x 1 (square) aspect ratio and adjusted the brightness slightly to make the car pop out a little bit. Below, is a behind the scenes image, in case you […]

Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about rewire outdoor light and feed it through the wall. For about two years the cable of the outdoor light was running through a small window and during the winter I could feel the draft running down my neck. To fix the issue, I had to detach the wire from the rear of the light in order to be able to run it through the hole in the wall. Long story short, the issue has been fixed and I can fully close the window now. Why […]
