One night a year Basildon is a really scary place…because everyone is ready for Halloween. Like in previous years Diana and me went for a stroll around the neighbourhood trick or treating. Happy Halloween everyone!

Photography allows us to freeze time and immortalise the most cherished moments in our lives. Recently, I had the honour of photographing a baptism ceremony at Parohia Ortodoxă Română in Basildon, and the experience was truly awe-inspiring. Join me as I share a glimpse into the beauty and significance of this sacred event through my photographs. The Beauty of Baptism: In the Orthodox faith, baptism holds great importance as it signifies rebirth and entry into the Christian community. The ceremony is steeped in symbolism, with rituals that carry deep spiritual meaning. From the pouring of holy water to the anointing […]

Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is another beautiful Christmas decorations I encountered during my evening walk through my neighbourhood. In a post a few days ago, I have mentioned two other houses’ Christmas decorations, which incidentally are right next to this one. I am starting to think that there is a healthy rivalry between my neighbours, in regards to who’s Christmas decorations are more beautiful, and somehow I am tempted to join the challenge.🎄Like, comment & share!
Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about the Basildon Town Centre at sunset. In the foreground is the new and modern Marketplace, comprising of off-site fabricated kiosks. In the background is the Basildon Council building and St Martin’s Church. Like, comment & share!
Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is from Inside the Sundial metal art work at Basildon Town Centre Roundabout. This was taken with the Insta360 Pro 360 camera. The image looks a bit distorted but this is the main reason why I choose it. You have to imagine a metal ball with an arrow running through it and me inside the ball. From the outside it looks like this. Like, comment & share!
Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about an empty road in Basildon at sunset. This was taken during our daily walk today in Gloucester Park. All the playgrounds were closed. My daughter got upset, but she cheered up when we played tag on the top of the hill. Like, comment & share!
Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is of a Weeping Willow Tree, right next to The Plough & Tractor Pub in Basildon. Technically, are more than one tree in the picture, but I positioned myself in such a way that one tree blocks the other. Apparently, weeping willow trees get their common name from the way that rain looks like tears when it’s dripping off the curved branches.Like, comment & share!
Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is again of the local Church in Basildon, Holly Trinity Church. This image was taken with my Insta360 camera and edited in Lightroom Mobile. Like, comment & share!
Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is a top down view on my wife laying on the grass with her hands pointing up and saying: Come Closer During the same session I took a 360 degree photo of Basildon Town Centre as seen from the Holly Trinity Church empty car park at sunset. Pretending to catch the super pink moon with our hands, on our daily walk around the neighbourhood during the lockdown due to Covid-19.
Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about two police officers patrolling the deserted Basildon Town Centre and keeping their distance while doing it. We had to go out today because we had to buy some food. Some of our favourite groceries are only available at the Romanian shop located in Basildon Town Centre. The rest of the shopping was done at Iceland supermarket, literally next door. If you came to this blog to see empty shelves, I am afraid that I’ll have to disappoint you. I did however had to queue up […]
Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is of some puffy clouds gathered over Basildon. Somehow the sun rays made their ways through a gap in the clouds and illuminated the Gloucester Park, Basildon. Like, comment & share!
Today’s photo of the day, part of a “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is of a rainbow over Basildon Town Centre. Like, comment & share!
Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020” is about a place in Basildon when you can have a lot of fun…with your clothes on. I am taking about Hollywood Bowl. My daughter was invited to a birthday party which took place here and my wife and I tagged along. Not too long ago I spent my birthday in here too. In conclusion, if your birthday is coming and you don’t know when to celebrate, recommend Hollywood Bowl Basildon. For those of you in the UK, interested in purchasing prints or canvases and delivered straight […]
