037-2020 – St Paul’s Cathedral in the morning sun
Today’s photo of the day is another photo of St Paul’s Cathedral in the morning sun, shot from the top of One New Change Shopping Centre in London. I was actually inside the lift, on my way down when I snap this photo.
But the actual photo of the day is the edited version, done entirely on my iPhone 11 Pro in Lightroom. I pay £9.98/mo for Lightroom & Photoshop and is totally worth it. Being able to use the Spot Removal Tool, Crop and Color Correct on my phone is really mind-blowing and the quality is decent when viewed on a smartphone. Most likely is passable when viewed on a tablet or small laptop screen. Keep in mind that I had to resize the images for internet use, to make it load faster.
However, I still believe that DSLRs and PCs have a future. For professional work, smartphones are not quite there yet. I would hate myself having to edit an entire wedding on my phone or photographing a fast passing sporting event, for example, using only the smartphone.
Do you believe that In the future DSLRs will disappear and will be replaced by smartphones?
P.S. A few weeks ago I shot the same building from the ground floor and here is the blog post.
