Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about figuring figs out, by photographing them on a black background. Another product photography session @Ozgo Productions’ Studio featuring two figs on a black background. I like my job, especially when I have to eat my subjects. Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about rewire outdoor light and feed it through the wall. For about two years the cable of the outdoor light was running through a small window and during the winter I could feel the draft running down my neck. To fix the issue, I had to detach the wire from the rear of the light in order to be able to run it through the hole in the wall. Long story short, the issue has been fixed and I can fully close the window now. Why […]
Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about a skilled carpenter fitting an interior door. Incidentally, the workbench was set up in the middle of Ozgo Production’s studio so I got my camera out and ready to shoot. Apparently, the job seems simple, but I was surprised by how many tools are necessary to complete the task to a professional level. From trimming the bottom of the door to ensure the door will fit the carpet, to chopping in the handle, each step will require different tools – as you can see in […]

Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about a white fan on a black background. I also captured the same image under different flash power settings from 1/64 to 1/4, at 1/200 sec, F8, ISO100 to see when the back light/rim light is overpowered by the speedlight’s power. Below is a quick animation I created with ezgif.com. How to Add Animated GIF Images in WordPress in one easy step. Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about my daughter’s Panda Bear Plush Toy on a black background. This images started with a black background and a white surface made of polystyrene. I was intrigued by the contrast and challenged myself to capture a black and white object in this environment. If you look closely in the toy’s eyes you can see where I got the lighting setup idea. Three-point lighting setup In order to achieve this setup I needed 3 lights. I had the back light (Elinchrom D-lite 400 flash head with […]
Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about a more creative way to present a watermelon slice. For this image, I dared to try something a little bit different, so I decided to turn the red of the watermelon black and white but keep the crust in colour. I kind of like this look. Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is of a passion fruit cut in half on a black background. Know when to stop shooting! This is the first shot out of 3 in total. After the 3rd shot, I decided that the first image will suffice, so I stopped shooting. I took the card out of the camera and went upstairs and started editing on Adobe Lightroom Classic. I imported the 3 images and gave the first image 3 stars. Usually, when I have more images, this star rating helps me sort out the […]
Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about Papaya fruit captured using a feature in my camera called Multiple Exposures. In case you haven’t noticed, in this image is only a half of papaya fruit on a black background, but as I mentioned above, on a Canon EOS 5D Mark III there is a built-in feature called “multiple exposures”. How to I used Multiple Exposures feature? In short, I enabled the multiple exposures feature, selected “additive” option with only 2 exposures (each exposure is added to the final image cumulatively) and rotated the […]
Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about a kiwi cut in half on a black background. This image was taken in Ozgo Production’s small studio with a Canon EOS 5D Mark III, a manual macro lens (F22), an Elinchrom flash head with a snoot on a light stand shooting down from above, but the key light was from a Canon speedlight flash on camera pointed at the object, exposure, 1/200 sec, ISO 100. Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about cutting firewood with a chainsaw. I have no experience cutting firewood with a chainsaw, but our neighbour Gabi offered to help. He brought his own Stihl chainsaw and heavy duty wood log splitter. Tomorrow will have to stack all the firewood inside, next to the fireplace. Winters are harsh in Romania, and for that reason we have to prepare in advance, while the sun is still shining, because is not advisable to use wet or green wood in the fireplace. If you do, you might […]
Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about a silver metal blowing whistle. In order to take this image I used my iPhone 11 Pro a piece of white tissue on the kitchen table using the available light. I have to admit that is not perfect, but it’s amazing what can be done these days on a smartphone. Like, comment & share!
Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is of a tasty apple hanging in a tree in the orchard. Nothing compares with the action of walking through the orchard and pick up an apple from a tree, wipe it clean on your t-shirt and enjoy the divine taste of a simple apple. By the the way, did you know that an apple with skin on contains 50% more phytonutrients than a peeled one! Apple skins have exceptionally high concentrations of antioxidants. Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is of my daughter’s gentle touch with the neighbour’s cat called Lemonade. Poor cat, sometimes I feel for her. Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about the final goodbye family and friends wished to my father in law. While the memorial service is the last chance to say goodbye to the deceased in many cultures and religions, some believe the mourning process lasts for 40 days. There is a belief that the soul continues to wander the Earth for another 40 days after the initial death. While wandering, the soul visits significant places from their life as […]
Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about the white house with the red rooftop I see everyday from my kitchen window. I am not very happy with the reflective surface I used as the floor and retrospectively I think I should have extended the black background and let the toy […]
Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about my Ideal Combi Boiler Repair experience. The long story short, my boiler was taking a long time to make hot water and recently developed a rumble noise, usually after I used the hot water, but not exclusively. See below video. I service my boiler every year and this year the hot water issue it happened just before the service day, so my hopes were really high that will be solved. It didn’t. Instead, Jake the boiler engineer said that the Plate Head Exchanger is the […]
Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, was taken in the fields of gold from Langdon Hills Country Park. A wonderful evening with the family not far from home. Like, comment & share!

Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about Football Tennis, a sport I used to play in Romania in the 1990s. On my way back I noticed how people were enjoying a pint of beer in the newly opened pubs, under the supervision of two police officers. Too bad they are not allowed to drink while on duty – not fair. Venues are told to “assist (NHS Test and Trace) by keeping a temporary record of customers and visitors for 21 days and assist NHS Test and Trace with requests for that data […]

Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about a stubborn bird eating from one of the feeders. I was fascinated by the perseverance and as always the reward is well deserved. The poor bird was standing on a tiny branch, just thick enough to hold its weight, plus was leaning forward and towards the bird feeder, hopping to find a treat inside the hanging pine cone. I am not a specialist, but I believe this bird is called Magpie, from the Crows birds family, one of the many British Garden Birds protected by […]
Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about my aneroid barometer, which until today was hanging on my wall as decor and not used for its intended purpose-predict the weather. I just learned how to calibrate it and from now on I will try to see how accurate is compared with the main weather channels and the actual reality. I am starting to appreciate old technology. I am blown away by the simplicity and craftsmanship and unlike our today gadgets don’t require electricity to function. Next, I will try to get myself an […]
Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, might be useful to you if your car is due for and MOT and Full Service, and looking for a great deal. Please note the * which basically means that most likely you will end up paying more. I paid £213 (when I booked it online) not £188 and the entire process took 2 hours not 1 hour and 30 minutes as advertised. Drop the car and wait or comeback when ready. The staff is very knowledgable and overall I had a pleasant experience. Definitely recommend the […]
Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about one of the few fun activities my daughter can enjoy during our daily walk around the block. As I was taking the photo Diana wouldn’t stop laughing and shouting: Higher Mommy, Higher! Like, comment & share!
Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about the first tomato flowers shooting out of the plants I transplanted 6 days ago. The flowers were splashed with mud hence the black spots here and there. As you can see in the images below, the plants are not very tall at the moment but happy to see the first flowers already here. I took the photos with my Canon 5D Mark 3 and Oshiro 60mm, f2.8 Macro lens, but when I edited them in Lightroom I noticed that lens profile is missing for this […]
