220-2020 – Mushrooms

Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about a bunch of fresh mushrooms from the forest. I have to admit that I don’t know which are good to eat and which one are poisonous, but the guy who brought them to us is an expert on mushroom, plus my mother-in-law knows a lot about mushrooms too. 218-2020 – Yellow Flowers

Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about an interesting phenomenon I noticed in my garden in regards to these yellow flowers. In the morning, these yellow flowers were covering a good chunk of the garden, as seen in the picture above, but in the afternoon they were gone. On a closer look, it seems that these yellow flowers don’t like the sun’s heat too much and they close up, as you can see in the image below. Like, comment & share!

214-2020 – Killer Claws

Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about the “killer claws” that struck our family today. My father-in-law passed away this morning at 4 am after fighting for his life for 1 week due to a cerebral stroke which rendered him unconscious. God blessed his soul!

211-2020 – Starting a Fire

Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about starting a fire, either because I had to start the fire in the wood burner to make hot water for shower or get the BBQ ready. I spent most of my day cleaning the wood burner and the BBQ both full of ashes after years of use. Happy to report that both are fully working as intended. Initially the wood burner stopped working and lots of smoke was coming out until I cleaned the chimney. It was full of residue. Also I had to remove […]

207-2020 – Sword Lily

Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is of sword lily, a flower I didn’t know I have in my garden, also knows as garden montbretia. We’ve been away for 10 days and beside the sword lilies we also enjoyed a few ripe strawberries from our garden. Let’s not forget about the tomato plants. Before we left some of them had flowers and today I saw this… Soon we’ll enjoy our own tomato salad. I can’t wait for it. Like, comment & share!

206-2020 – Family Reunion Photoshoot

Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is one of the few images I managed to capture during our ad-hoc family reunion in Preston. What is not visible in the photo is heated debate we’ve had in regards to where is best location to take the photo. A few things to consider: my mum just had hip surgery a week before, my stepfather had a stroke a few years ago and can’t stand up still for too long, my daughter started crying, one of my sisters hate having me taking her photo because 10 […]

205-2020 – Homework Time

Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about my daughter doing her homework. She is clearly missing her nursery, teachers and friends. From the technical point of view, this image was captured on iPhone 11 Pro, on 52 mm lens and portrait feature, dialling the F number all the way down to 1.4 to get the blurred background. I only used Lightroom mobile app to make the image smaller for web use. Like, comment & share!

199-2020 – Harris Museum

Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is a long exposure shot of Harris Museum, Art Gallery & Library in Preston. Throughout the entire exposure, a person in an yellow T-shirt crossed the square from left to right in front of my camera. A yellow and orange wavy line has been recorded in the final image.
