275-2020 – White Fan on a Black Background

Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about a white fan on a black background. I also took the same image with various flash power settings ranging from 1/64 to 1/4, using a shutter speed of 1/200 sec, an aperture of F8, and an ISO of 100. I wanted to see when the speedlight’s power would overpower the backlight/rim light. I created a quick animation with ezgif.com, which you can see below. Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about my daughter’s Panda Bear Plush Toy on a black background. This images started with a black background and a white surface made of polystyrene. I was intrigued by the contrast and challenged myself to capture a black and white object in this environment. Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is of a passion fruit cut in half on a black background. Know when to stop shooting! This is the first shot out of 3 in total. 266-2020 – Cutting Firewood with a Chainsaw

Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about cutting firewood with a chainsaw. I have no experience cutting firewood with a chainsaw, but our neighbour Gabi offered to help. He brought his own Stihl chainsaw and heavy duty wood log splitter. Tomorrow will have to stack all the firewood inside, next to the fireplace. 265-2020 – Silver Metal Whistle

Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about a silver metal blowing whistle. In order to take this image I used my iPhone 11 Pro a piece of white tissue on the kitchen table using the available light. The edit was done in Lightroom mobile, white balance, cropping and masking the object with my finger to get the white background. I have to admit that is not perfect, but it’s amazing what can be done these days on a smartphone. Like, comment & share!

260-2020 – Gentle Touch

Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is of my daughter’s gentle touch with the neighbour’s cat called Lemonade. Poor cat, sometimes I feel for her. She is dragged all over the garden and trained to walk like a human or squeezed firmly by the neck, with all the love in the world. On the other hand I don’t see her complaining too much, and only noticed a few scratches here and there on my daughter’s arm and face. Like, comment & share!

Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is an aerial view of Sacele City Centre on a sunny day. The city since 1950 is composed of former villages which now form the main sectors: Baciu (Bácsfalu, Batschendorf), Turcheș (Türkös, Türkeschdorf), Cernatu (Csernátfalu, Zerndorf), and Satulung (Hosszúfalu, Langendorf).
