My Approach to Event Photography: Sustainable Growth Lecture

As an event photographer, I recently had the pleasure of covering the “Sustainable Growth” inaugural lecture by Bina Mehta MBE at Bayes Business School. Here’s an inside look at my approach to capturing this special event: Pre-Event Preparation Normally I would arrive early to scout the location, but since I was familiar with it, I checked it off the list. I did notice that the venue updated the lighting in the auditorium, so a few test shots were necessary to make sure the lighting is consistent or if external flash is required. Staff and technicians usually are happy to help. […]

Capturing the Joy of George’s Christening at St. John’s Church, Epping

As a photographer, I’m often tasked with capturing life’s most precious moments. George’s christening at St. John’s Church was no exception. The sun was shining, the atmosphere was filled with joy, and the church’s beautiful stained glass windows provided a stunning backdrop for this special occasion. My goal was to capture the raw emotion and love that filled the room. I focused on the details: the tiny hands, the proud faces of the parents, the laughter of the guests. I wanted to create images that would transport the family back to this magical day for years to come. One of […]

072-2020 – Fashion Trends

Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about “ Fashion Trends” in London, Spring 2020. I am not into fashion, but I spotted something unusual about these upcoming trends in Fashion – and I am totally unacceptable. Did you notice the same thing I noticed? If you too spotted the mask or the gloves, then you are wrong. I am totally ok with wearing a mask and gloves in March in London, but I don’t understand why she would need two bags? 058-2020 – London Skyscrapers

Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020”, is about skyscrapers, a collection of tall buildings in the heart of London. This gap in London’s skyline is temporary, because as you can see a new building is about to fill the gap. Like, comment & share!

043-2020 – London Wall Place

Today’s photo of the day, part of “a photo a day challenge 2020” is about London Wall Place, where old and new coexist in perfect harmony. In this photo you can see the tower of the church of the medieval hospital of the Elsyng Spital. William Elsyng, a London merchant, founded the hospital in 1330 to provide shelter, spiritual and physical care for London’s homeless blind people. A few feet away is the restored ruins of the London Wall, a defensive wall first built by the Romans around Londinium, their strategically important port town on the river Thames in what […]

042-2020 – Street Art

Today is about Street Art! The photo of the day, part of a photo a day challenge 2020 is this expensive work of art, in metal, that we are seeing every day, but don’t take the time to really appreciate it. I hope you took the time to really take it all in. For those of you wishing to find out more about the artist, I would say that he/she is unknown and it’s more like a joint venture and who knows maybe you even contributed (with your high heels)! Filming a 3 days conference in London – the gear and software we use

This post is mainly for my fellow producers, but not only. Pre-Production The Brief The client wanted a 3 days conference filmed with one camera in Full HD and each session edited into separate videos. Why film a conference? Below are some of the reasons why my client has chosen to film this conference: Video can be a fantastic marketing tool for prospective attendees Video can reach an audience not able to attend your conference. Ideas and discussions can be accessed well into the future. What equipment did I use and roughly how much did it cost? Obviously, the equipment […]

Tower Bridge at night

Tower Bridge at night Trying to photograph a city scape after sunset it’s a bit tricky but not impossible. Most of today’s cameras are able to capture good photos even on auto but if you want better results you will need to:

Kew Gardens – A corner of paradise in London?

Kew Gardens – A corner of paradise in London?  One day, I decided to go out without knowing exactly where I’m going. I took the central line thinking of going to White City because I had never been to that place. I launched Google Maps and browsed the area. I spotted Kew Gardens and my destination was clear. The second I made up my mind, the train stopped at Mile End Station so I quickly changed to the District Line train to Richmond. The first train was for Ealing Broadway so I decided to get off at Earl’s Court and wait for […]

A Sunday afternoon in London

A Sunday afternoon in London If you live in London and the sun is out you must go out. This is what I did but it wasn’t easy. The temptation to watch TV was so big. I googled a few minutes to find something to do. I decided I’ll go to Tate Britain. I had a feeling that I would change my mind but I didn’t care, I just wanted a reason to go out.
